About Our Critics

AstralDaamonA bit about me: Im currently a Digital Asset Manager at an Animation Studio. I have been drawing since forever and have often sought to help young talent (especially people who say they cant draw stick figures) to improve and find out that they can, in fact, draw.
My expertise are by no means final as I am always learning and improving my own skills. I do have strengths in Drawing, Photography, Digital Colouring (other wise known as CG), Graphic Arts, Web-design, Flash, and Animation (still junior animator).
About my critiques: I base a lot of my opinions on instinct and often times will offer a way to fix it. I'm told I can be a bit aggressive, though I believe its cause I don't add too much fluff to my critiques. I do not hand out Its Nice! Very pretty! Cool! OMG!-
What I wont critique:- Poetry and Prose
- Stock Art
- Romance, yiao, slash, yuri, hentai, lemon writing
- 3-D
YamyYabesA bit about me: She is currently working as a freelance artist specializing in various design fields. She also offers her services to fellow students studying in Architecture and Fine Arts by assisting and by offering commissions in their design projects .
She had received various awards and recognition since childhood in both academics and extra-curricular activities especially in the field of arts. She had been consistently participating in various competitions, seminars and conventions nationwide.
Yamy divides her time between her art and her studies at the university. She intends to pursue studies in Architecture, Advertising or Industrial Design upon finishing her degree in Nursing.
She is enlisted in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Online Registry of the Philippines.
About my critiques:Direct. Would pinpoint the pros and cons of the project. Provide suggestions of how to tweak the art to make it better. Open to questions and would try my best to answer the query efficiently and favorably.
What I wont critique:- Photography
- CSS Coding or Web Coding
- Flash
- Stock
Sky-FlameA bit about me: A bit about me: I'm a senior student at highschool.
I have a big interest in all arts - dance, performance, directing down to visual arts and creative arts. I have always been involved with them.
Study of arts through schooling, work with Samantha Everton (professional photographer). Also work experience in arts, which included teaching classes in the study of arts from primary kids to adults. Ive also been involved in modelling, both for Samantha Everton and work when I was young in Television and Magazines. Also recently, acting in various university films.
I trained myself in photography, with occasional help from artists and teachers. However, drawing has always been a passion of mine; and has developed as I have become older. I hope to take an arts course when I graduate.
About my critiques: Direct but fair. I usually state what's good as well as whats bad. I don't believe in completely ruining an artist by telling them their work is terrible. I am very picky when it comes down to detail, but am willing to see others side to their work.
What I wont critique: Sculptures

I generally look at skill and work experience. Or if you have any Art training in college - which helpful.
The only thing I really want out of a critic is I want to make sure that they know what they're talking about. There's nothing worse than bad advice - given by a guy who has no clue how the industry works or what the fundamentals are.
If your still interest after this just send me a note with the following:
A bit about yourself
Your experience (work, school, lifetime)
Your critquing style
What you won't critique
As a critic you are still able to post thing to receive critiques yourself - but your first priority would be to help shrink the pending list on the main journal page. Once the list is heafty enough i'll be assigning critics their links. After all no one wants to critique 25 pieces daily (this stuff does grow to be rather heafty quite quickly).
Once the pending list is done you are free to critique the links that are already done. I'd like to eventurally have a min of three critiques per piece, but at this time its just not possible.

Everything is fine. That's how life works. Everything is fine until it isn't, and then you deal with it. Otherwise there is no life, there's just waiting to die.
